Private Food Tastings Walking tour in Florence
The intention of our gourmet walking tour is to make you feel “Florentine” through the visit of “Caffes” and foodstore dating back to the 18th and 19th Century. Let’s start with Caffè’. Founded in 1735, with a sort of “Old England” atmosphere. Breakfast is a creamy fresh-brewed cappuccino with a “budino di riso” or “schiacciata con l’uva”. A stone thrown from the Duomo you find Pegna, founded 150 years ago as Grocery, Wine and Paint Shop. It’s time of a an “apertivo”, of course at Procacci. Founded in 1880 with its truffle specialties. It’s almost lunch time and we go to San Lorenzo market. We just walk by ignoring the tourist-trap junk- stuff stands because we must see the indoor-food market. Curious visitors’ attention might be catch by an old lasting traditional street-food, you ‘ll never find it in any other city: "Il Trippaio". Since the night of the centuries "La Trippa" was the most common food. Even nowadays the few trippa stands in town have a long line at lunch time for A “Panino con il Lampredotto”. Let’s go to the second floor. A variety of food-offer. Restaurants that satisfy even the most demanding food-lover. Self-service, no- reservation, the lounge is always crowed and over-crowed with local people and tourists eating, tasting, or just looking around or waiting to join the cooking-class.
